The Victor Center is offering FREE screening for students of Ashkenazi descent for nine Jewish genetic diseases. One in five people of Jewish Ashkenazi descent is a carrier of a mutation of a Jewish genetic disease. Screening can cost a couple thousand dollars if not done through a program such as this. You must register in advance for the screening. Screening involves genetic counseling and a blood draw. If you have any questions or are interested in volunteering, contact Shoshana, Outreach Coordinator at the Victor Center, at 215 456 7875 or rosensh@einstein.edu.
