ABOUT OUR EVENTS

The Jewish Graduate Student Network Presents... Think party time. Think quality food, drink, and company. Happening approximately once a month throughout the academic year, Grad Network Presents... events bring together students from 10+ area universities for a really good time!

Grad Gatherings are small, informal opportunities for grad students and young professionals to get together and enjoy Philly. Grad Gatherings include going out for ice cream or dinner, taking in a movie or play, baking cookies or challah, and going bowling. These events take place a couple of times a month and are a great way to make new friends.

Simply Shabbat events offer grad students and young professionals a chance to unwind at the end of a long week by enjoying Shabbat dinner together. Simply Shabbat events are often held in people's homes, may be potluck or catered, and always include a kosher and a vegetarian option. Simply Shabbat happens approximately twice a month, with one of those weeks featuring our popular "salon" discussion series after dinner. We are always looking for new hosts! Email info@jewishgrads.org if you're interested.

Holiday! Rosh Hashana dinner, Yom Kippur break fast, Chanukah candle-lighting, Passover seder... Let the Grad Network be your home away from home for holiday celebrations.

Tuesday Topics are out-of-the-box, innovative, and exciting Jewish learning workshops that happen two Tuesdays out of every month from 7:00-9:00 pm, alternating locations between Steinhardt Hall in West Philly and the Gershman Y in Center City and featuring some of the best Jewish thinkers in the city.

Shabbat Hop: Want to attend Shabbat morning services but not sure where to go? Nervous about walking into an unfamiliar service? Worried you won't know anyone?
Join us once each month as we visit a different area synagogue as a group to experience their Shabbat morning services, then stick around for Shabbat lunch.

Phixin Philly is a partnership between the Grad Network and the Collaborative to provide once monthly community service opportunities for grad students and young professionals.
GradMatch is the Grad Network's free matchmaking program. Though not exactly an event, it is a great way to meet new people!
Campus Clubs: The Grad Network serves as an umbrella for 16 student-run, campus-based organizations at schools across the city. Want to see your school represented? Email info@jewishgrads.org to find out more.
